Sunshine Smoothie

We all know that smoothies are a part of our everyday diet now and for good reason. It’s quick, it’s filling, it usually has a couple of our daily dose of fruits and veggies and the obvious health benefits. The most important plus for me, are the colours. They are unbelievably beautiful and you just want to have a glass. Being from a country that predominantly runs on brown beverage, this new entrant is a revolution in techni color. This one, is an immunity boosting and skin friendly drink with its dose of vitamin C. With fasting season on, although we know now that occasional fasting is good for us, including this in the evening will help take those benefits further.

Recipe :

Ingredients : ( for 2 glasses)

  • 1 carrot
  • 1 inch piece ginger
  • 1 orange
  • 1 lemon
  • Honey as needed

Method :

  1. Add 1 chopped carrot and ginger to a blender and grind to a puree.
  2. Strain into a container. If you like it pulpy, keep it as is.
  3. Juice 1 orange and lemon. Add it to the carrot ginger juice.
  4. Add honey to taste and top with coconut water.
  5. Serve chilled.
